Main: Seasons of Hope - Relay for Life of Second Life

Today marks what is surely the biggest event in the year for the virtual world of Second Life - it's Relay For Life of Second Life 2011. For several months, groups in-world have been raising money for the American Cancer Society and other associated organisations across the world, with fundraisers, dances, and events of all kinds. At the time of writing, RFL of SL has this year raised almost $325,000US so far (and over $1,000,000 since its inception in 2005), with organisations all over the Grid contributing and working hard to raise more.

The event itself is a 24-hour relay around a special track surrounded by astonishing builds on many different themes, but all unified by the idea of the seasons - Seasons of Hope. It starts today at 10am SLT with the opening ceremony and ends a full day later.
