Game of Thrones
Tomorrow, July 12, the fifth book in the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin, A Dance with Dragons, releases to much fanfare. Fans of the books have been waiting for five years for this moment and the series has recently acquired a whole new legion of fans thanks to the HBO series Game of Thrones.
In honor of this, gullar sahir's Main program today is a musical tribute to the books and the television show. I (Gabrielle) have included a wide variety of music that I feel connects to stories in several ways. You will hear music from the soundtrack to the Games of Thrones television show by Ramin Djawadi. Also included are other works by Djawadi as well as music from some of his fellow composers at Remote Control Productions, such as Hans Zimmer and Klaus Badelt. You will also hear a mix of Early Music, Celtic and Folk songs about Kings, Queens and Winter. The program rounds off with some film score music from Fantasy movies.
I hope that today's music is an enjoyable prologue for the book release tomorrow. I eagerly await my copy, which is scheduled to arrive on my doorstep at some point during the day tomorrow. If you are a fan, happy reading and enjoy today's music!
gullar sahir produces this program in conjunction with the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life. You can listen to the program now at http://main.radioriel.org. Today's music originates from the music library of Gabrielle Riel.
