From the Library - H.P. Lovecraft Anniversary

Today marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of H.P. Lovecraft - arguably one of the most influential horror writers of the 20th century. Modern writers like Stephen King and Clive Barker, comics writers Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman, film directors John Carpenter, Stuart Gordon, and Guillermo Del Toro, and artist H. R. Giger have all acknowledge influence from the works of H.P. Lovecraft.

In honour of the anniversary today's From the Libray selection includes an assortment of "spooky" music. Some, like the music from Shoggoth on the Roof are specifically Lovecraft inspired, while others, like Saint-Saƫns' Danse Macabre have a long history of association with all things scary.

Sit back and enjoy, just be careful what you dream.
