From the Library: Piano Jazz

Today, join us for a wealth of jazz pianist in a programme of primarily instrumental music from some of the greats of the keyboard jazz world, from Oscar Peterson's interpretations of Gershwin to David Rees-Williams' wonderful classical explorations, David Benoit's piano wizardry and Sandy Owen's beautiful,  reflective solo Steinway pieces.

It's not simply traditional piano in today's show: I've included some excellent performances on electronic keyboards, from the Billy Barber album that was recorded with one of the very earliest Macintosh-based MIDI applications to the incredible dancing melodies of Ian Lynn, and a great deal more.

While there are some lively pieces in today's programme, much of it you'll find relaxing and perfect accompaniment to an Autumn weekend day. Enjoy.

Then don't forget to join us at 11am and 7pm Pacific (7pm and 3am UK time) for the latest instalments of  latest ZBS Foundation radio series, Dreams of Rio and Ruby 3: The Invisible World, in the ZBS Radio Hour.

From the Library is produced by gullar sahir in conjunction with the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life. You can listen to the programme now at http://main.radioriel.org - or click here to link straight to your player if your browser is set up to do so. Today's programme is presented by Elrik Merlin.
