Temporary tattoos!

These days, I'm smitten with all the clever tattoos out there, but I'm too wussy to get a permanent one. So I was THRILLED to discover tatt.ly, a new online shop offering awesome, designy temporary tattoos.

Which would you wear?

Personalized wine bottles

How rad are these wine bottles? They would be great to bring to a dinner party or celebration.

The Smiths

When Alex and I first started dating, I'd go over to his Brooklyn apartment and we'd drink wine and order dinner. (I remember always getting insane butterflies when I walked up the stairs to apartment! He would lean over the banister to say hello, and I would get all heart-pound-y.) Anyway, he'd usually put on music by The Zombies, Love and The Smiths, so I thought he might appreciate these clever limited-edition prints.

Redesigned movie posters

Moxy Creative House redesigned 10 classic movie posters, focusing on each film's signature style. (You can also buy them for $30.)

P.S. I secretly thought Dumb and Dumber was totally hilarious.
P.P.S. The Shining still gives me chills!

Wee onesies

My darlings, I had to come back to post about these: How adorable are these custom letterpress-printed onesies? Mav is selling them for the month of June only in her WEE pop-up shop. You get to choose your favorite colors and the wording. I love them; they'd make such great gifts! xo

Wall decals

Shanna Murray just launched a beautiful set of hand-lettered wall decals. My favorite is "You are my sunshine," which looks really sweet paired with a photo (and is a fun alternative to framing). Congratulations, Shanna!

Book covers

The baby was kicking, so I woke up super early this morning and spent a random hour looking through book covers online. So many hilarious and clever designs out there!

P.S. More + amazing + covers.

Rad birth announcement

Love this birth announcement. The parents are so cool, and I love how the dad's hands are in his pockets. Very mellow of him. :)

Daydreaming

My computer's desktop is always scattered with images that I find inspirational, so I figured I'd share a few. Above is a kiss...
The Mermaid Inn's restaurant logo...
...and children at a Parisian puppet theatre in 1963. (The bottom shot is the moment that St. George slays the dragon.) xoxo

Typography prints + tattoo

Brooklyn graphic designer Jessica Hische is my new girl crush. Not only does she sell beautiful prints, but she also has the raddest type tattoo.
And wouldn't this alphabet print be sweet for a nursery?

(Thanks, Lee!)

Calligraphy tattoo

Betsy Dunlap does gorgeous calligraphy for weddings and invitations. But her cutest project recently was a man's tattoo with his daughters' names. How tough and sweet at the same time.

Wine totes

These cotton wine totes would be great for bringing wine to dinner parties (or sneaking it on picnics).

Subway poster

Erin's three-year-old nephew is obsessed with the subway, so she made him a subway map poster for his birthday. She drew his favorite stops, including his friends' houses and, adorably, the Museum of Natural History. Lucky little dude! (See more photos here.)

P.S. He also had a subway-themed party.

Wedding: Program

We were lucky enough to nab the super talented Anna Bond of Rifle Design for our programs. She was wonderful to work with, and we adored her hand-painted illustration of a ship on the waves. She even drew my dress exactly like it was, as well as Alex's beard and glasses! At the bottom, we included a romantic quote from one of our favorite novels, The History of Love. A program was put on each guest's chair (and, later, on our fridge).

Click the photo to enlarge, if you'd like. xo

Update: Anne, a reader, asked if Alex had seen this program before the wedding (and therefore my dress style), and yes! He did! Oops! We laughed about it when it happened, because I had been so careful to keep my wedding dress a secret from him...and then I just handed him a drawing of it. :)

Wedding: Invitation

First up, the invitation! My family is British, and Alex's ancestors are from Wales, so our wedding had a British/nautical theme. We asked the brilliantly talented Michael and Emma to design our invitations (remember their amazing wedding?) and they did an incredible job! We loved the handwritten type, patterned background, and beautiful ship and anchor. The invitation's shape recalled a 1960's concert poster, and we mailed them rolled up in little tubes. Thank you so much, M+E!
