TUXY TUESDAY: DOMINO GOT SKUNKED!
Put away your tomato juice! No, Domino did not get sprayed by a skunk. She did, however, get skunked by me!
What can I say -- I'm a mean mama! When I bought Domino her little dress -- the one that she wore last Tuesday -- I also came across this most adorable skunk outfit. I just couldn't resist. Tuxies and skunks are a purrfect pairing, don't you think?
I harken back to the days of the Bugs Bunny cartoons on TV, where Pepe le Pew mistook a poor little tuxy girl kitty for his lady love! Actually, it kind of reminds me of Domino and Milo (take a peek at the end of this post and see what you think!).
Anyway, once again the outfit was a little on the small side. This one was much bigger overall, and I had no trouble fastening it around Domino's neck and middle. However, it was still quite short, as the tail of the outfit ended before her own began.
Also, the head of the outfit would just barely fit over Domino's ears, and being small, the elastic kept pulling it back. Despite all this, though, Domino "dis-stinked-ly" looked like a skunk, so I was very pleased with the effect.
Even though the costume didn't touch her legs at all, Domino is walking quite oddly, as if actually impaired by the ensemble. Then she does her big stretch on the bench, and afterwards hopped on over to the planter with her leg extended upwards and backwards -- kind of like the standard Cupid pose!
Finally, her Daddy rescued her from wandering very far in her befuddled state. Daddy held Domino so I could get some decent pictures of her from the underside. These are strangely bizarre in their own right -- not only Domino who makes the cutest postures, but also because of her Daddy's facial expressions (the parts that you can see anyways)! I giggled when editing these, believe me!
Domino was released back onto the bench for a few final shots before being relieved of this latest instrument of torture. I must say, I'm getting quite a kick out of dressing up my kitties (all except Dylan who would certainly not tolerate such things). I'm just hoping I don't become too addicted to it. Domino very FURvently hopes so, too!
And here, as promised is a comPURRison of Pepe le Pew and his Kitty-Love to our Milo and Domino. Quite the likeness, methinks!
