The Gentlemen from Vienna

The point is not to take the world's opinion as a guiding star but to go one's way in life and working unerringly, neither depressed by failure nor seduced by applause.

~ Gustav Mahler

Vienna, Austria was probably the most powerful and influential city in regards to classical music in the 18th and 19th Centuries, as it was the home to some of the most famous composers of those eras, and of today! Vienna claimed the Classical composers Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert all as residents during their professional lives. During the Romantic period, Brahms, Mahler and Johann Strauss Jr. lived there. Today's program on gullar sahir's Main stream is a mix of music from these Classical and Romantic composers, The Gentlemen from Vienna.

gullar sahir produces this program in conjunction with the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life. You can listen to the program now at http://main.radioriel.org. Today's music originates from the music library of Gabrielle Riel.
