Domino is indeed a study in opposites.
She can be very prim and proPURR ...
... or a slinky, sexy showstopPURR!
Following is a short anecdote which really demonstrates her PURRsonality:
This is Domino in her new "Gold Digger" club dress. We had just received it in the mail and she tried it on. Just then the salesman arrived with the contract for our new furnace. He and my husband went into the dining room to sign the papers.
Domino was staring and staring, as you can see in this picture, and eventually wandered over to check out what was going on. First she jumped up onto a chair, and then onto the table, and lay down right on top of the contract papers. The salesman's pen was poised to write, but Domino was smack dab in the way.
Luckily, he was a cat lover, and just laughed and gave her pats. Domino is not afraid of any stranger, and is very nosy, so she will immediately investigate. She MUST be the center of attention, and she certainly knows how to grab it. Attention, that is -- as well as a few other things, as you'll see next ...
Company comes for dinner, and Domino 'sticks' real close. A little too close for their comfort. She always extends her claws and gets stuck in people's clothing. My clothes all have little pinprick holes from where she has attached herself. Here, my brother, Barry, is trying to extricate himself from her clutches.
Once Domino decides to retract, the situation turns serene and the tuxy diva settles in for some lap time.
Here's another time, where Daddy picked up Domino and really got hooked!
Daddy's trying to avoid her prickly points!
Those toe claws are just poised to latch on!
Also, Domino doesn't take to being posed. She wants to do it herself. She's a very independent sort, you know. My friend Susan is learning what Domino will and won't allow.
And here is Domino as sweet as can be. Just the picture of PURRfection. You have to show one side to truly appreciate the other.
Here, Domino is cooPURRating with Dante in the hunt for the chipmunk. Our front steps have sunk, creating a gap on the porch where the chipmunk is hiding.
In an instant, Domino decides to stake her claim, and Dante gets a whapping!
To sum it all up, Domino is strong and independent, but can be sweet and clingy, also.
Like her tuxy coat, she has two sides -- the black and the white. The devil and the angel.
It's what you call TUXITUDE! And Domino has it in spades.
I think the only thing that has saved Milo so far, is that he is a tuxy, too.
